It’s been really cold where I live right now. Like, below zero cold. So, in the interest of wrapping up, I thought I’d buy a couple of new pairs of gloves.
It had been a while since I’d bought any. So, I had a look on a few sites and realized that they were way more expensive than I remembered them being.
After spending more money than I wanted to on a new pair, I started thinking, “Huh, is there any way I could buy another pair at a cheaper price or even get them for free?”
There are indeed so many things you can get for free. Free socks, free t-shirts, free hoodies, etc. We cover these freebies here all the time on MoneyMellow.
So, I thought, I’d do some research and find some simple ways to get free gloves.
I found a few methods that really worked for me, and I think they will for you too! In this post, I’ll be sharing these methods.

If you want to keep your hands nice and warm in the colder months, I’d recommend that you try these tips.
1. Contact glove manufacturers
Contacting brands and asking for a free item is so simple and “out there” that most of us don’t even think about it. But really, it’s the easiest way to get free stuff from a brand you like.
No, I am not saying every single company you contact will give you their product for free, but if you contact 10-20 glove makers and end up getting even a few pairs for free, it still is worth the time.
Using a simple email template that you can copy and paste makes it easy and fast.

Hi [Glove Maker],
I hope you’re having a great day! My name is [Your Name], and I have been a fan of your brand for a long time. I’ve heard wonderful things about your gloves and would love to try out a pair or two. All you have to do is search for a list of glove brands and manufacturers on Google, visit their official site, and use their “Contact” page to send them a free glove request using the template I just gave you.
It’d take you a few minutes to contact a few dozen manufacturers. It’s totally worth it even if you only get a few free gloves.
You can also contact them on social media and sort of put them on the spot. Some companies will actually respond better to freebie requests on social media since it’s great PR and gives them a chance to go viral with that tweet, Instagram post, TikTok video, etc.
2. Facebook Marketplace
You can find all manner of free things on Facebook Marketplace, from free clothes, hats and shoes to even wedding dress.
Most people think of it as a place to buy and sell secondhand stuff.
While it’s great for that, it’s definitely worth having a browse of the free section on there (it’s linked in the section heading above).
You can use the search bar on Facebook Marketplace to find free gloves. Simply enter the term “gloves” into the search bar. This will help you to find anyone who’s giving away gloves.
3. Cash in your credit card rewards
If you have a credit card that offers cashback, check to see if you have any rewards that are waiting to be cashed in.
I didn’t realize that I had like $20 waiting in cashback on my credit card until I checked! I spent that cash on some new gloves and basically got them for free.
Check to see whether your card offers any cashback rewards and then cash them in and get some gloves at no cost!
4. Sign up for store email lists/newsletters
Many stores will provide discounts, promos, exclusive offers, and other money saving deals through their email lists or newsletters.

Many people simply can’t afford winter clothing, such as gloves. After all, many people are struggling with everything being so expensive nowadays. Thankfully, there are places out there to help you if you’re in need.
One place that’s great is the Salvation Army. It provides assistance to low-income families in need. In some areas, it offers free winter clothing, such as gloves, hats, coats, and other essential items to those who are struggling financially.
The Salvation Army operates at various locations throughout the country. If you are in need of winter clothing, like gloves, but you can’t afford it, then reach out to your local Salvation Army for assistance.

Anyone who wants to get some gloves, or any type of clothing for free, should use reward websites. Reward websites pay you for doing various online tasks.
These sites are also sometimes known as get paid to (GPT), as they pay you to do tasks.
